Palestinian child, shot by Israeli forces with a rubber-coated steel bullet in his left eye during a violent raid into Shufat camp in occupied Jerusalem, has been kept chained to an iron bed at Israel's Hadassah Medical Center.
Physicians for Human Rights strongly condemned Israeli authorities for keeping a 14-year-old boy held in Israeli custody while receiving medical treatment, considering the act as a flagrant violation to medical ethics.
Haaretz Hebrew newspaper said that the child is scheduled to be released today to house arrest.
The child was shot and injured in his left eye last week with a rubber-coated steel bullet as Israeli forces accused the boy of throwing stones at Israeli military vehicles during their violent raid into Shufat camp.
The bullet ripped through his left eye and has caused internal bleeding.
The child was taken in an ambulance heading to Makassed Hospital before being stopped by Israeli police forces at a military checkpoint erected at the entrance to the camp.
The forces allowed the ambulance to pass after holding it for more than half an hour, Physicians for Human Rights revealed.
The Israeli force insisted on following the ambulance with a military vehicle and demanded the driver to go to Hadassah hospital.
At the hospital, the child was subjected to tough investigation without the presence of his parents.

A consortium of human rights groups has urged UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres to add Israel and its army to a blacklist of entities and countries that have committed grave violations against children.
“Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict,” a global network of NGOs that strives to end violations against children in armed conflicts, released its annual report ahead of the UN’s release of its annual report on children and armed conflicts.
"The new secretary-general has an opportunity to send a clear message to all member states that a party to conflict is listed for one reason alone, a pattern of documented, United Nations-verified evidence of grave violations against children," Dragica Mikavica, advocacy officer for the organization, said in the report.
The Watchlist, which has recommended the Israeli army for blacklisting since 2005, focused on Israel's 2014 military aggression against Gaza in its report, stressing that Israel’s “attacks in Gaza have not ceased.”
"In his 2016 annual report on children and armed conflict covering the period of January 1 to December 31, 2015, the secretary-general reported that 27 Palestinian children [23 boys and 4 girls] were killed in the West Bank, almost double the number killed in 2014," the report noted.
It added that "the number of injuries to Palestinian children also increased, mostly due to clashes with Israeli forces and military-led operations".
In 2015, Israel escaped blacklisting by the UN after lobbying by the US and Israel.

The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Committee issued a statement strongly denouncing the Israeli army’s abduction of a wounded Palestinian child, who previously lost one of his legs after the soldiers shot him to an expanding bullet.
The committee stated that the child, Issa Adnan Abdul-Mo’ty, 14, from Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, was abducted by the soldiers on Wednesday.
On September 19, 2015, the child was shot by the soldiers with an internationally-banned expanding bullet in his leg, prior to his abduction, and his wounded leg was later amputated at an Israeli hospital.
After his leg was amputated following several surgeries that were unable to save it, the child was released, on September 29, 2015, on a 7000 Israeli Shekels bail.
The Committee stated that the re-arrest of the wounded child “is another crime added to the Israeli occupation’s dark history of violence and abuse against the Palestinian children,” and called for an immediate an international intervention to end the escalating violations.
“This detained child is a victim of Israel’s racist policies and decisions to use live fire against Palestinian children,” the Committee added, “Israel is not only using live and sniper fire, including expanding bullets against the children, it also insists on continuing the crime by abducting and imprisoning them.”
