The Hebrew weekly newspaper Kol Ha’ir disclosed on Friday that the Israeli municipality in Jerusalem has prepared a renovation project for one of the eight gates of the Old City. Palestinians believe it is for Judaization purposes.
The Hebrew newspaper said the municipality will renovate the section called “The New Gate” with a budget of ten millions of Israeli New Shekels. The project will be finished by 2016.
Kol Ha’ir stated that working on the project will begin in the next few weeks. The project aims to renovate and reconstruct the old structures of the city at a large scale, turning the place into a commercial and tourist attraction.
However, Palestinians perceive this project as a step within a series of procedures aiming at Judaizing Jerusalem and wiping out its Arab and Islamic landmarks.

The Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage Thursday called on the Muslim masses to intensify their presence in the holy Aqsa Mosque.
The Aqsa Foundation warned in a statement of Israeli plans targeting the Mosque and protecting its desecration by the Jews.
The statement also warned of Israeli politicians' use of the Mosque as a bargaining chip for the coming Knesset election to be held on March to make pledges to allow the Jews to pray at the Mosque or build the alleged temple mount in its place.

A consortium of Israel’s alleged temple mount organizations announced the launch of a new instructive course to edify Jewish women on the history of the alleged temple and current bids to construct it on the ruins of Muslims’ al-Aqsa Mosque.
A number of fanatic female Jews, active in the propaganda of the alleged temple, are expected to join the course, set to be delivered by Rivka Shimo in the illegal Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba, south of the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
The syllabus is said to include a series of instructions and sermons, “half-truths” some historiographers would say, on the fake saga of the temple mount across various historical epochs.
A series of presentations on the rite of offering sacrifices to the mount on such occasions as childbirth, is set to be disseminated in the mystical curriculum, entitled “The Women and the Mount.”
The Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage, meanwhile, warned, in a press statement Wednesday, of the striking upsurge in such Judaization plots fostered by simmering calls to set Israel’s alleged holy shrine on the to-be wrecks of Muslims’ al-Aqsa Mosque.
The foundation further sounded alarm bells over Israeli intents to mobilize Jews’ back up of such Judaization schemes by appealing to both secular laics and fanatic devotees.

Head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 Occupied Palestine, Sheikh Raed Salah, warned of an Israeli sacrilegious plan targeting Muslims’ holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
Speaking to al-Aqsa TV Channel Wednesday night, Sheikh Salah said an Israeli “bombshell” is expected to hit holy al-Aqsa Mosque, in reference to mounting Israeli calls to put an earlier Judaization plan into effect.
“But the life-span of the Israeli occupation is certainly too short to make such fantasies come true,” he said.
In Salah’s terms a simmering tension is to rock the region in the near future due to the bitter rivalry set to be revived by the Israeli electoral race.
Palestinians will stand firm against any projected conspiracy, he vowed.
The Islamic leader described a recent visit paid by the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to holy al-Aqsa Mosque a “slip-up” that only nurtures the seeds of the plots weaved by the Israeli occupation.
He further warned that the Israeli occupation has recently closed down four institutions and banished over 1,000 Palestinians from al-Aqsa Mosque on charges of supporting Occupied Jerusalem and the holy compound.

Israel is exploiting its upcoming elections in order to Judaise Jerusalem's al Aqsa mosque, said the Islamic-Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem and the Holy Sites.
Dr. Hanna Issa, secretary-general of the Commission, issued a statement noting that all Israeli Zionist parties, even those of the so-called left, support attacks against al Aqsa mosque and a change of the status quo. The Jewish Home party has declared the “Temple Mount” as the most sacred site for Jews throughout the world, while the newly formed Kulanu leader, Moshe Kahlon, has stated that “Our party supports the absolute unity of Jerusalem in any future political framework agreement.
The Old City in Jerusalem will be under Israeli sovereignty. The “leftist” Zionist party Meretz has also come out in support of the right of Jews to pray in the Temple Mount.
The Commission urged the international community, and in particular the Arab states, to act in order to halt Israel's gross violations of Palestinian rights, adding that the failure to take action serves to perpetuate the Israeli authorities' violation of the sanctity of al Aqsa.

Sheikh Mohamed Hussein, grand Mufti of Palestine and Jerusalem, strongly denounced the Israeli occupation authority in the holy city for banishing Palestinian worshipers from the Aqsa Mosque.
In his Friday khutba (sermon) at the Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Hussein stated that the Israeli orders that ban Palestinian men and women from praying at the Aqsa Mosque would never dissuade them from going to it to defend it.
He stressed that all Israeli attempts and plans to divide the Mosque between Muslims and Jews spatially and temporally would be doomed to failure, warning that any change happening to the Mosque would be deemed as an assault on all Muslims and wound further destabilize the regional security.
The preacher underlined that the cooperation between the Muslims would frustrate all Israeli plans aimed at imposing a new fait accompli at the Aqsa Mosque.
Following the Friday prayers at the Aqsa Mosque, thousands of Palestinian worshipers participated in a rally in its courtyards in protest at the French offensive cartoons of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
The participants chanted slogans reflecting their anger over the French blasphemies against the Prophet of Islam and called for revolting in his support. They also torched Israeli flags and carried Islamic green and black banners.
