Hamas calls on Arab, Muslim countries to expel Israeli ambassadors
Picture
Spokesman for the Hamas movement Fawzi Barhoum on Wednesday called on all Arab and Muslim leaders to expel Israeli ambassadors in their countries in order to pressure Israel to end its attacks and violations on Palestinians.

Barhoum said in a statement that recurring Israeli raids on Jerusalem and al-Aqsa mosque are "a dangerous Zionist approach," and part of a "religious war."

The statement come amid daily clashes around the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, as the Passover holiday has brought raids by Israeli police as well as right-wing Jewish groups that call for the construction of a Jewish temple in the mosque's place.

Because of the sensitive nature of the Al-Aqsa compound, Israel maintains a compromise with the Islamic trust that controls it to not allow non-Muslim prayers in the area. Israeli forces regularly escort Jewish visitors to the site, leading to tension with Palestinian worshipers.

The compound, which sits just above the Western Wall plaza, houses both the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosque and is the third holiest site in Islam.

It is also venerated as Judaism's most holy place as it sits where Jews believe the First and Second Temples once stood. The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

Al-Aqsa is located in East Jerusalem, a part of the internationally recognized Palestinian territories that have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.

Israeli security restrictions pave the way for settlers' break-ins
Picture
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) evacuated on Wednesday Beersheba Street in al-Khalil in order to pave the way for Israeli settlers' marches to mark Jewish holidays. Eyewitnesses told PIC reporter that IOF soldiers stormed Beersheba Street and forced Palestinian citizens to leave the area as a prelude to the Israeli settlers' collective break-in into an alleged Jewish shrine.

The sources added that dozens of Palestinians have gathered at nearby Bab al-Zawiya in an attempt to confront settlers' possible attacks on Palestinian civilians.

Meanwhile, IOF soldiers prevented on Wednesday, for the first time, thousands of Israeli settlers from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil out of fear of possible resistance attacks against them.

Thousands of settlers were supposed today to break into Ibrahimi Mosque to perform Talmudic rituals on the occasion of Passover; however Israeli forces prevented them citing security threats.

In another incident, Israeli settlers stormed a Palestinian street leading to Nahalin and Jaba'a villages close to Gush Etzion settlement bloc south of Bethlehem on Tuesday night.

The settlers stoned Palestinian vehicles passing by, damaging some of them, while threatening Palestinian citizens to prevent them from using the street.

The settlers have recently stepped up their attacks against Palestinian citizens in the area.

Barhoum urges the Arab countries to defend al-Aqsa Mosque
Picture
Hamas spokesman Dr. Fawzi Barhoum said that Israeli escalated attacks against al-Aqsa Mosque are in fact a religious war targeting Palestinian existence, calling on Arab and Islamic nations to defend occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque. The Israeli occupation authorities’ practices in occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque are tantamount to a religious war, mentioning as examples the IOA step of facilitating and encouraging daily break-ins into al-Aqsa, displacement of Jerusalemites and destruction of their homes.

He said that such policies, with unlimited US support and with the international community's silence, target Palestinian existence.

Barhoum called on Palestinian youths, women, and scholars to continue confronting and thwarting Israeli schemes and intensifying Palestinian presence in al-Aqsa Mosque.

He also called on the Arab and Islamic nations to rise up in defense of occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque that is considered a part of Islamic creed.

The senior official in Hamas movement called on leaders of Arab and Muslim countries to save al-Aqsa Mosque before it is too late, and to isolate Israel and to use all pressure cards to force Israeli occupation to stop its violations and crimes.

Gaza government denounces escalated break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque
Picture
The Gaza government denounced Israeli Occupation Authority’s (IOA) attempts to desecrate the holy al-Aqsa Mosque, which culminated in the attempt to celebrate Passover inside its courtyards. In a statement released following its weekly session on Tuesday evening, the government hailed the Jerusalemite masses that have been stationing in the Mosque and firmly resisting Israeli break-ins.

The government called on Jerusalemites and all capable Palestinian citizens to keep on heading to the Mosque and maintain vigil there to save it from such violations and thwart any potential incursions or desecration schemes.

The government further emphasized the right of the Palestinian people to resist Israeli occupation by all means.

The government expressed its pride in the recent achievement of the Palestinian prisoners namely by bringing the solitary confinement of Palestinian detainees Ibrahim Hamed and Dhirar Abu Sissi to a halt.

The fight for Palestinian prisoners’ rights is still going on and everybody should assume his/her responsibility to restore the prisoners’ freedom, according to the government’s statement.

Gaza Government hailed the prisoners’ on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day, and pointed out that the Palestinian prisoners’ cause is among its urgent priorities.

The government renewed its call to immediately end the peace talks between the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah and the Israeli occupation authorities and to refuse any potential extension, calling for the need to set a unified national strategy in which all factions meet up to resist the Israeli occupation, preserve Palestine’s key-rights and tenets, and adopt all forms of effective resistance.

25 Palestinians Injured After Israeli Settlers, Soldiers, Invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque
Picture
At least 25 Palestinians have been injured, while several others have been kidnapped, after Israeli soldiers and settlers broke into the yards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied East Jerusalem.

The soldiers fired firebombs, gas bombs, concussion grenades, and physically assaulted the worshipers, inflicting this large number of injuries.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that the soldiers also attacked Mohammad Mojahed, one of the guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and kidnapped him, and that more settlers and soldiers and settlers have gathered in the area.

An employee of the Ministry of Waqf in occupied Jerusalem, said dozens of soldiers and settlers are surrounding the area, and are trying to remove the Palestinians by force as the settlers are planning to pray in the yards of the mosque.

He added that the soldiers have also been heavily deployed in different parts of the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, and that the Police declared the area a closed military zone to all Palestinians.

The soldiers also closed the al-Magharba Gate, shortly after it opened it to allow tourists and settlers through, an issue that led to further tension especially since a large number of Palestinians were pushed away, and were removed from the mosque area.

Local sources said the army later withdrew from the yards of the al-Aqsa mosque, leaving dozens of injuries, and took the kidnapped mosque guard to a local police station in the occupied city.

Soldiers and settlers are still heavily deployed around the mosque area, and in different parts of the Old City.

Islamic conference on al-Aqsa Mosque in New Delhi
Picture
The Indian Islamic Center has organized a conference on al-Aqsa Mosque in the Islamic Cultural Center's headquarters in New Delhi. More than 300 hundreds Indian figures have attended the event, in which they stressed Muslims' obligations towards Palestine and al-Aqsa Mosque in light of Israeli settlers' repeated attacks in al-Aqsa under Israeli occupation forces' protection.

The participants called on Arab and Islamic peoples and governments to support Palestinian people’s struggle, to lift the siege on Gaza, and to support Jerusalemites' steadfastness to thwart all Israeli schemes against al-Aqsa Mosque.

Head of the Conference Zafar Islam Khan praised Palestinian step to join 15 international treaties and agencies, calling on Muslims around the globe to get ready for the liberation of Palestine.

The participants called on the Indian government to re-adopt supportive policies of the Palestinian issue. Flayers and booklets in different languages about Palestine and Jerusalem were distributed during the event.

Palestine's Ambassador to India detailed Israeli authorities' violations and settlers' crimes against Palestinian people and properties.

Meanwhile, a state of calm has prevailed on Tuesday in al-Aqsa Mosque after Israeli police prevented extremist settlers' break-in into the mosque as planned.

Dozens of Palestinian worshipers have stationed in al-Aqsa Mosque for days to confront Israeli settlers' break-ins planned in Passover.

The holy mosque's guards declared a state of anticipation and alert in al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent any infiltration attempt by Israeli settlers.

An Israeli settler disguised as an Arab managed, however, to infiltrate into al-Aqsa Mosque before being discovered by the mosque guards who handed him over to Israeli police.

Qaradawi calls for draining security of occupation to save al-Aqsa
Picture
Dr. Youssef Qaradawi, chairman of World Federation of Muslim Scholars and the Board of Trustees of the International Quds Institution (IQI), urged the Muslim Nation to stage “a Friday of anger” in support of al-Aqsa Mosque against Israeli increasing assaults and division schemes. In a statement published by IQI, Qaradawi called for the immediate execution of the “draining” procedure by every means available.

According to Qaradawi: “Israeli ongoing aggressions against Occupied Jerusalem and the holy al-Aqsa Mosque require a serious reaction from the entire Nation. Israeli occupation will then have to think twice before carrying out assaults against our Jerusalem and sanctities, which are the exclusive properties of the Arab and Muslim nations.”

“Israeli occupation should always remember that our sanctities make part of who we are and that we are ready to sacrifice our own souls to save them. We will never tolerate such violations. We will keep on defending our sanctities till our last breath,” Qaradawi added.

“The current policies of Israeli occupation have been adding fuel to fire and will pave the way for a third intifada to restores the dignity of Palestinians and Arabs.”

Qaradawi raised alarm bells over the Israeli division scenarios being frequently weaved for the Aqsa Mosque and to hold sway over Jerusalem. “Nobody has the right to breach the sanctity of our Jerusalem,” Qaradawi maintains.

Qaradawi called on the entire nation to rally in masses and perform a “Friday of anger” to redeem the holy al-Aqsa Mosque and stand in the face of pre-arranged Judaization schemes. “We should break our silence and appeal to the entire globe to save al-Aqsa against any potential projected violations.”

Qaradawi ended his speech by declaring: “Every Muslim should assume responsibility to save al-Aqsa. Our holy al-Aqsa Mosque should be everybody’s cause.”

Israeli Police Deport Six Jerusalemites from Al-Aqsa Mosque
Picture
Israeli police issued orders to deport six Jerusalemites from the al-Aqsa Mosque and their surrounding area for a period of minimum two weeks, and up to six months, with the pretext of "protecting the security and law."

The deported Paltinians were identified as: Umm Tareq al-Hashlamoun, one of the female students in the mosque, Hussam Sedr , one of the staff of the waqf, Mahmoud Abdul Latif, Mesbah Abu Sbeih, Hamzeh Rweidi and Rami al-Fakhori.

Israeli forces, accompanied by officials from the Israeli intelligence agency, raided the al-Hashlamoun house, and handed the family of the woman a notice to go to al-Qashla police station for interrogation and an order to deport her from the al-Aqsa mosque and its surrounding areas for three months.

Hussam Sedr and Mahmoud Abdul Latif were deported from the mosque for six months. Sedr was arrested near Bab Hatta while he was heading to work inside the mosque and handed a deportation notice.

Abdul Latif said, "My friend Rami al-Fakhouri and I were arrested Sunday after the Dohor prayer, while we were coming out of the mosque through Bab al-Nather.  We were severely beaten during the interrogation and detention in the Israeli police stations of Bab al-Silsila and Qashla."

He added, "one of the policemen handed me a deportation order, and imposed a fine of 5000 NIS, but I refused to sign the order, then I was arrested and transferred to al-Maskobiya interrogation center for interrogation before I was released today."

In a related incident, Israeli police deported Rami Saleh al-Fakhouri, 24, from the mosque for two weeks, after being arrested for 24 hours in Israeli interrogation centers.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center said that Hamzeh al-Rweidi, 25, was arrested on Bab Hatta, after a policeman stopped him while he was getting out of the mosque.

The center added that a group of the Israeli Special Forces severely beat him with guns, arrested him and took him to al-Qashla center.

MP: All Arab regimes should assume responsibility for defending al-Aqsa
Picture
Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Hosni Bourini warned of the “brutal attacks” launched against the holy al-Aqsa Mosque and Occupied Jerusalem. According to Bourimi such incursions carried out by Israeli settlers are “serious menaces” that should be resisted by all means.

In a statement to Quds Press on Monday, Bourini spoke against the quasi taken-for-granted Arab and Palestinian silence over the recurrent organized assaults against al-Aqsa, a holy Islamic symbol that makes part and parcel of the Muslim creed. It is high time all Arab and Islamic governments plucked up their courage to defend the holy Mosque, according to Bourini.

Bourini applauded the “persistence of Jerusalemites stationing in Occupied Jerusalem and the holy al-Aqsa Mosque, despite of the frequent Israeli bullying and prosecution threats.”

In Bourini’s view, assaults and Judaization conspiracies against al-Aqsa should be everybody’s concern. Serious efforts need to be made by Arab leaders and governments, and the Palestinian Authority, in particular, to save the holy Mosque.

Bourini called on the PA to immediately stop normalization with the Israeli occupation and to “bring security coordination with the IOA to a halt. Such measures are according to Bourini the least PA can do to stand in the face of the Israeli occupation”.

Bourini further emphasized the urgency to forge Palestinian reconciliation and to promote a national program in which all Palestinian factions team up to restore Palestinian’ rights and key-tenets.

Youth for Jerusalem to launch int'l campaign in support of Aqsa Mosque
Picture
The Kuwait-based Youth for Jerusalem coalition said it intends to launch an international campaign themed "We are all protectors of the Aqsa Mosque". Youth of Jerusalem coalition explained that its campaign would include cultural symposiums, conferences, sit-ins outside international organizations, and postings on social networking websites.

Head of the coalition Tareq Al-Shaya stated that the campaign is aimed at supporting the Aqsa Mosque in the face of the Jewish dangers threatening its existence.

"The coalition depends on cultural means to defend the Aqsa Mosque and it holds courses and intellectual conferences to introduce the issue of the Mosque and its history," Shaya added.

"Nowadays, we have launched a global campaign titled 'We are all protectors of the Aqsa Mosque' and it will be based on staging sit-ins outside international organizations to urge them to take firm positions to save the Aqsa Mosque," he said.

The Youth for Jerusalem coalition was founded in 2006 during the first youth forum in Yemen and later it was able to open 21 branches in other countries.

In a related context, second deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC) Hasan Khreisheh called for forming a popular committee advocating Jerusalem in the face of Israel's Judaization activities.

"The Palestinian people, their factions and leadership are demanded to shoulder their responsibilities to confront the hordes of settlers and curb the dangers threatening the Aqsa Mosque, which went beyond any daily violations," Khreisheh told Quds Press on Sunday.

He also demanded the Palestinian Authority to necessarily stop its peace talks with the Israeli occupation and deal seriously with the issue of Jerusalem.

Khatib: PA gives the green light to the Judaization of Jerusalem
Picture
Deputy Head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948-occupied Palestinian territories Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib stated that the Israeli occupation has escalated its attacks and break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque. In an exclusive interview with the PIC, Khatib said that Israeli occupation took advantage of Arab countries' preoccupation with their internal affairs to continue its dangerous attacks and violations in al-Aqsa Mosque.

He warned that the Palestinian Authority’s decision to continue negotiations provides a cover and a green light to the Israeli Judaization policy in occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli authorities have continued excavation works under al-Aqsa Mosque along the previous 10 years, and it seems that time has come to launch daily collective raid campaigns against the holy mosque, Khatib said.

He pointed out that Israeli break-ins into al-Aqsa plazas have recently become a daily routine, which, along with preventing Palestinian worshipers' access to the mosque, posed as a prelude to take control over it.

Sheikh Khatib called for supporting the steadfastness of Jerusalemites in face of Israeli brutal campaign against Palestinian presence in occupied Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, HaMoked Center for the defense of Individual confirmed that Israeli occupation continued its "quiet deportation" policy against Jerusalemites, as "the Israeli Ministry of Interior revoked the residency status of 106 Palestinians from East Jerusalem in 2013."

In January 2014, as in every year, HaMoked submitted its application to the Ministry of Interior under the Freedom of Information Act for information on revocations of status of East Jerusalem permanent residents for the year 2013. The application was sent as part of HaMoked's on-going campaign to stop Israel's quiet deportation policy, implemented against East Jerusalem residents, according to the human rights center.

According to the data supplied by the interior ministry, in 2013, Israel revoked the residency of 106 East Jerusalem Palestinians, including 50 women and 24 minors; also, in 2013, Israel "reinstated" the residency status of 35 East Jerusalem Palestinians.

Between 1967 and 2013, Israel has revoked the residence status of 14,309 Palestinians from East Jerusalem, according to the interior ministry's figures supplied to HaMoked over the years.

Intensive presence in al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent Israeli settlers' break-in
Picture
The Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage confirmed that Jerusalemite worshipers have intensified their presence in al-Aqsa Mosque since dawn Monday amid Israeli extremist organizations' calls to offer sacrifices in the Mosque’s squares to mark Passover.

Hundreds of Palestinians have joined, since the early morning hours, the worshipers stationed in al-Aqsa Mosque for the second day in row, the foundation added.

Hundreds of Jerusalemites have performed dawn prayers at the Mosque’s gates after being denied access to its courtyards by Israeli forces.

Jerusalemites have continued to pour into the Mosque, despite Israeli military restrictions on its gates, to prevent the settlers' break-in.

Israeli forces have prevented Palestinian worshipers under the age of 50 from entering al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli forces have prevented this morning Palestinian worshipers from Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 from having access to al-Aqsa Mosque, claiming that Palestinian youths planned to carry out acts of violence inside the Mosque.

Israeli military forces, police, and border guards have intensified their presence in the vicinity of occupied Jerusalem and the Old City, which led to a state of tension among Jerusalemites.

Palestinian men under the age of 50 were prevented from entering into al-Aqsa Mosque, in addition settlers and tourists' visits, which were canceled for today.

Baraka: Millions are eager to defend holy al-Aqsa Mosque
Picture
Hamas’ representative in Lebanon, Ali Baraka, warned Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) against attacking the holy al-Aqsa Mosque. According to Baraka, any assault of this type would be considered an infringement on the Islamic creed. Baraka hailed the masses stationing in al-Aqsa and occupied Jerusalem to save the holy mosque from the attacks organized by Israeli settlers and occupation forces and from attempts to divide the Aqsa Mosque and to demolish it later on to pave the way for building the alleged Temple in its place.

Baraka said, during a celebration rally on the occasion of Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and Dr. Abdel Aziz Rantisi’s martyrdom anniversary and the Prisoner’s Day organized by Hamas’ Women Committee in Sidon, that any attack launched on al-Aqsa is an attack on Muslims. “Al-Aqsa makes part of who we are. Millions of Muslims are ready to defend al-Aqsa by all means,” he emphasized.

He hailed those who have been killed in the fight for liberation, adding that they had sacrificed their own life and blood for the sake of Palestine. “Those are the beacons that illuminate our liberation routes. Everybody should be up to the struggle that they have already initiated. We should go on along the same road and resist until every single stone of Palestine and al-Aqsa become ours and until all of our refugees are able to re-set their roots in their native soil,” Baraka elaborated.

According to Baraka the only way back to Palestine is via resistance. “Neither negotiations nor compromise can make such a dream come true. Israeli occupation is drawing much benefit from the negotiation process in the execution of its judaization and settlement scenarios. Ever since the Oslo agreement of 1993, rates of Jewish settlement have been growing, dramatically, almost six times, in the West Bank”.

Baraka renewed Hamas’s rejection of U.S Secretary of State John Kerry’s plan targeting liquidation of the Palestinian cause and eliminating the Palestinians’ right of return along with its tacit attempt to perpetuate Israeli occupation in Jerusalem and the West Bank. “We will never consent to establishing a Palestinian state on such a fragile basis and over a territory that is crammed with Jewish settlements.”

Hamas’s representative in Lebanon further called on the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority (PA) to immediately bring the negotiations and security coordination with Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) to a halt.

Baraka also urged the latter authorities to cling to resistance as the unique and only liberation tool. Baraka further called on PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas to hold a wide-scale meeting for leaders of different Palestinian factions so as to set up a unified national strategy promoting resistance and insisting on constants.

Baraka saluted the brave Palestinian prisoners and their families on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day. “Our sincere solidarity is the least we can do to such brave captives and their families so as to boost their self-esteem and support their stand in the face of their jailers.”

Baraka vowed the movement’s keenness to do whatever it takes to ensure the prisoners’ release as it has already done to so many others in Wafa al-Ahrar deal.

Baraka urged Lebanese official authorities and parties to set up serious tangible measures to alleviate the burden of their Palestinian brothers, improve the state of affairs in the refugee camps, and ensure the refugees’ civil and human rights.

IOA closes Ibrahimi mosque before Muslim worshipers
Picture
The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) decided to shut down the Ibrahimi mosque in Al-Khalil for two days to allow Jews celebrate Passover. The Awkaf office in Al-Khalil said in a statement on Monday that the IOA informed the director of the mosque that it would be closed before Muslims on Wednesday and Thursday.

It said that Jews would be allowed free access into the mosque’s various areas on those two days to celebrate Passover.

The Awkaf statement said that Adhan or call for prayers would be also banned during those two days, describing the closure as a violation of the right of worship.

The IOA closes the Ibrahimi mosque for ten days each year according to Shamgar committee decisions. The committee was formed after the Ibrahimi mosque massacre in 1994. It divided the mosque between Muslims and Jews and ordered closure of the mosque before Muslims for ten days each year to celebrate Jewish feasts.
