The Arab League on Thursday will hold an emergency meeting at the level of foreign ministers to counter the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.
The meeting, which will be held upon the request of Saudi Arabia, currently chairs the Arab summit, will also discuss means to confront the illegal decision of the US administration to move its embassy to the occupied holy city of Jerusalem.
Hossam Zaki, the League's deputy secretary general, said the meeting would contain "the strongest political positions... in support of the Palestinian resistance and against the American decision" to recognise the disputed city of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Israel has come under international pressure after its border forces on Monday killed some 60 Palestinians protesting against the transfer the same day of the US embassy to Jerusalem.
More than 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli snipers in seven weeks of protests calling for the right of return.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), in a statement on Wednesday, said that despite the attempt to hinder the magnitude of the diplomatic, political, and moral crisis facing the United States and Israel, after the declaration of President Donald Trump on Jerusalem, the transfer of the Embassy of his country to it, and Washington’s unlimited support to the occupation and its crimes and serious violations of international law, international legitimacy, and resolutions, the international community declared firm positions against Trump’s Declaration and the occupation’s crimes practiced against defenseless people, especially the massacre committed by the occupation soldiers against the unarmed participants in the Right of Return marches in the Gaza Strip, which reflected an international consensus on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the rejection of Trump’s Declaration, the transfer of the embassy, and the condemnations and criticism of the occupation authorities practices and violations ,which is evident in the speeches and positions of 14 countries in the Security Council, accusing the Security Council’s position regarding the US veto.
“This is in addition to the practical diplomatic steps taken by many countries in the world to express their stances, as some of them withdrew their ambassadors and others chose to summon their ambassadors from the occupying state, furthermore, several countries publicly demanded the formation of a fair and transparent commission of inquiry for the crimes of occupation, and the statements of condemnations issued in the name of senior officials in many countries,” MOFA added, according to the PNN.
The Ministry said that it highly appreciates and thanks all states that stood by the Palestinian people at this critical and delicate stage, as it affirms that this international consensus would not have been possible without the great efforts of President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian diplomacy.
The entire world is united in condemning the crimes of the occupation. The entire world, in its rejection of Trump’s Declaration and the transfer of the embassy, stated that they stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and with the martyrs and wounded Palestinians who have fallen, in clear reference to the failure of the efforts of the United States, Israel, and their allies to exclude the Palestinian conflict from the center of international attention and the permanent agenda of the international community, it added.

Vietnam, on Thursday, renewed its firm position in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
During the ministry’s weekly press conference, which focused on the transfer of the US Embassy to Jerusalem and the violence in the Gaza Strip, head of the Press and Information Department of Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry, Le Thi Thu Hang noted that Vietnam’s position was that all solutions concerning the city of Jerusalem should comply with international law, in particular with United Nations resolutions, with the consent of the relevant parties.
“The firm position of Vietnam was to support the just struggle of the Palestinian people and to support the two-state solution, including the establishment of a Palestinian State living side by side with the State of Israel along the borders of 1967 and East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.”
She expressed concern at the escalation of violence in Gaza in recent days, which has resulted in the death and injury of many Palestinians.
She affirmed that Vietnam is closely following the repercussions of the situation in the region and opposes the use of force.
Vietnam called for an end to escalation, a peaceful resolution of disputes and the search for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution that guarantees the protection of lives and interests, as well as maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Vietnam was among the countries that Israel claimed had confirmed their attendance of the opening ceremony of the US embassy in Jerusalem.
After the Israeli Foreign Ministry published initial attendance list, several countries – including Serbia, Vietnam, Peru, El Salvador and the Ivory Coast – denied they had confirmed their attendance and said they weren’t planning to attend.

Cemetery was uncovered three weeks ago during construction works at the corner of Elisabeth Bergner and Nahum Goldmann streets; local residents demonstrate against removal of tombstones, calling out 'Allahu Akbar,' one detained for disturbing the peace.
Tel Aviv municipality employees, aided by a large police force, evacuated on Wednesday an ancient Muslim cemetery uncovered three weeks ago during construction works done at the corner of Elisabeth Bergner and Nahum Goldmann streets in Jaffa.
Jaffa residents arrived at the scene as employees were removing the tombstones from the burial plot to protest the move, calling out "Allahu Akbar."
One protester was detained for questioning for disturbing the peace.
The ancient Muslim cemetery was uncovered last month by power shovels digging at the construction site. The workers began gathering the bones into cardboard boxes and buckets, intending to continue the works, but local residents led by the Islamic Movement in Israel began demonstrating against the move.
A representative of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality who arrived at the site, accompanied by police forces, ordered the immediate halt of works, which satisfied the protesters.
After works were halted, several residents came to the scene, spray-painting the fence of the construction site with "Sacred place - digging is forbidden."
On Friday, Jaffa residents, including representatives of the Islamic Movement in Israel, arrived at the ancient cemetery and set up signs around it saying "Cemetery - sacred grounds." They also poured concrete over the graves, creating tombstones.
The municipality considered the move an invasion of land it owns and ordered the removal of the concrete tombstones before facts-on-the-ground could be set.
According to construction plans, a three-floor structure is supposed to be erected at the site, which will house a homeless shelter, offices and a commercial complex.

The US on Monday opened its embassy in Jerusalem despite the widespread international condemnation and the Palestinian anger that has been escalating for months.
This came as about one million Palestinians were marching along Gaza's eastern border fence a few kilometers from Occupied Jerusalem. So far dozens have been killed and hundreds injured by Israeli gunfire.
The US had premeditatedly decided to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem on the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, the day when over 760,000 Palestinians were expelled from their lands in the 1948 war.
The number of Palestinian refugees, who were replaced with Israeli settlers, has increased to 6 million around the world.
Of the 193 members of the UN General Assembly, 128 countries opposed the US embassy decision, including US allies such as France and Britain.
Israel occupied the eastern part of Jerusalem in 1967 and declared the holy city, with its eastern and western parts, the eternal capital of Israel in 1980, a move which the international community refused to recognize.
About 140 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli occupation forces in the peaceful demonstrations launched since the US president Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
At least 55 Palestinians were killed on Monday after being deliberately targeted with Israeli gunfire during protests along Gaza's border fence with the 1948 occupied territories.
Throughout history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times and invaded and restored 44 times. The occupation was always destined to end and its true owners were to stay.
