Israeli forces on Monday demolished parts of the outer wall of Bab al-Rahma cemetery in occupied Jerusalem.
Officers of Israel's Nature And Parks Authority (INPA) escorted by Israeli forces stormed the cemetery and placed iron fences around the tombs as a prelude to confiscate the sieged area.
The Bab al-Rahma cemetery is a historical cemetery located outside the eastern wall of al-Aqsa Mosque, which houses the graves of two of the companions (Sahabah) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Ubadah-bin-Samit and Shaddad-bin-Aus (may Allah be pleased with them).
The cemetery has been subject to multiple attacks after Israeli authorities announced plans to seize parts of the cemetery for a national park trail in 2015.

Scores of Israeli settlers and Jewish students broke into al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday from al-Maghareba Gate under heavy police presence to celebrate the second day of Shavuot Holiday.
Meanwhile, the Israeli police have tightened the security measures imposed on Palestinian worshipers visiting al-Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of Ramadan.
The police have also stepped up their arrest campaigns and expulsion policies targeting al-Aqsa guards and staff in an attempt to limit the Islamic Awqaf administration of the Mosque.
According to the public relations and media official at the Islamic Awqaf department Feras al-Dibs, 184 Israeli settlers, including 30 Jewish students, broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning hours and conducted provocative tours in its courtyards before they left through al-Silsila Gate.
Al-Dibs said that the settlers performed Talmudic rituals and received some presentations on the alleged "Temple Mount" during the incursion.
The Israeli police opened al-Maghareba Gate at 7:30 am, deployed their forces in al-Aqsa courtyards to secure the settler break-in and closed the Gate after the morning incursion ended at 11:00 am.
About 284 Israeli settlers visited al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday to celebrate Shavuot Holiday.
The Israeli settlers on a daily basis organize tours into al-Aqsa Mosque in two rounds: in the morning and in the afternoon. Break-ins are usually intensified during Jewish holidays.

Panama's president Juan Carlos Varela has refused to move his country's embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem.
According to Israel Hayom newspaper on Monday, Varela said during his visit to Tel Aviv last week that Panama supports the political negotiations and hopes that there will be a dialogue on the two-state solution.
Varela affirmed, "We will stay in Tel Aviv, but we will wait and see what other countries will do. At the same time, we will support the negotiations between Israel and Palestine."
He said, as quoted by the Hebrew newspaper, "Every country has the right to decide where its embassy will be located," adding that his country prefers to wait and leave a room for negotiations.
Paraguay on Monday opened its embassy in Occupied Jerusalem to become the third country to take this step following the US and Guatemala.
US president Donald Trump in December 2017 recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announced his plan to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city. On 14th May, the US embassy in Jerusalem was officially opened.

Paraguay on Monday opened its embassy in Jerusalem to become the second country that follows the US lead.
The US officially moved its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem last Monday.
On the same day of the US embassy opening ceremony, the Palestinian people in Gaza organized a massive peaceful demonstration along the eastern border fence. The Israeli occupation forces violently quelled the demonstration killing 65 Palestinians and injuring about 3,000.
The US president Donald Trump in December 2017 recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and unveiled his plan to move the US embassy in Israel to the holy city.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned Paraguay's move and described it as a "flagrant aggression" against the Palestinian people and their rights, and a "blatant violation" of international law and UN resolutions.
The Ministry stressed that it will make every possible effort and take the necessary political, diplomatic and legal measures to ensure the prosecution of the countries that follow the US lead for their unjustified aggression on the Palestinian people.

In a stinging opinion-piece entitled “I mourn, not because I am Palestinian”, Nigerian trade unionist and human rights activist, Owei Lakemfa, blasted African countries for attending the opening of the United States embassy in Jerusalem, while 60 Palestinian protesters were being mowed down in the Gaza Strip:
“I am African living in Nigeria. I mourn because a dozen African countries were dining and wining in the new American Embassy in Jerusalem while their Israeli hosts were murdering dozens of defenseless Palestinians.”
Representatives from Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Angola, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo attended the event hosted by the Israeli government, and which marked America’s official recognition of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel. The US embassy move has been universally condemned.
Although the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denies that its representative had attended the event, Lakemfa suggests that there was still a Nigerian presence at the opening of the embassy. “Never mind that Nigeria is still trying to fish out the ghost that represented it,” the former General Secretary of the Nigeria Labor Congress wrote.
Lakemfa, who also served as Secretary-General of the Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU), questioned the logic of the attendance of these African countries, as all of them voted against the move at the UN General Assembly in December.
“The logic of our presence in the nest of killers baffles me; none of the African countries dining and clapping at the new American embassy voted in the United Nations for the United States in December 2017.”
“Kenneth Kaunda would be quite disappointed,” he wrote of Zambia’s presence, while “Tanzania would make Mwalimu Julius Nyerere turn in his grave that his heirs would be clinking glasses and smiling sheepishly while Israel massacred Palestinians,” he wrote.
Given its own history of genocide and massacres, Lakemfa was equally baffled by the presence of Rwanda.
In contrast, Lakemfa wrote that South Africa, a country with memory and consciousness, came out boldly on the side of justice by recalling its ambassador.
Lakemfa is not the only African activist to slam Africa’s presence at the event. Julius Malema, one of South Africa’s representatives at the Pan-African Parliament and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters in South Africa, accused those African states who were at the embassy event of undermining the Palestinian liberation struggle.
“We are very disappointed at African countries which had celebrated the declaration of Jerusalem as the official capital city of Israel by the USA. That is the highest form of betrayal because we as Africans should know that colonialism and imperialism have no place in humanity. It’s a violation of human rights to go and occupy the land of Palestinians. We don’t support that,” Malema told South African media.

Rabat has shelved plans for a twin city partnership with Guatemala City in protest against Guatemala’s transfer of its Israel embassy from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem.
“Following Guatemala’s decision to establish an embassy in Occupied Jerusalem, Rabat’s city council unanimously decided to suspend the examination of a twinning project with Guatemala City in solidarity with the Palestinian people,” Rabat’s deputy mayor Lahcen El Amrani of the Islamist PJD party told Reuters.
Guatemala opened an embassy in Occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday, two days after the United States inaugurated its new site there, a move that infuriated Palestinians and drew international condemnation.
On the day the United States opened its new embassy, Israeli troops killed 65 Palestinian demonstrators at the border in Gaza.
The Rabat city council had previously planned to vote on a twinning project with Guatemala City last week.
Guatemala opened an embassy in Rabat, its second in Africa, in November 2017.

Spokesman for Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Emmanuel Nahshon on Saturday announced that Paraguay will open its embassy in Jerusalem next Monday, days after the US celebrated the transfer of its embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city.
Nahshon wrote on Twitter that the president of Paraguay Horacio Cartes will arrive in Israel Sunday evening for the opening of Paraguay's embassy in Jerusalem on Monday, describing the move as a "historical moment".
Paraguayan Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga, during an interview with Radio 970 AM Friday, said that the decision was made by the president independently and without being influenced by any other country.
Paraguay is the second Latin American country after Guatemala that follows the lead of the US and decides to move its embassy to Jerusalem.
US president Donald Trump in December 2017 recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announced his plan to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. On 14th May 2018, the US opened its embassy in the holy city.

Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said at the extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Friday that there must be an Arab consensus on the centralization of the Palestinian issue.
No peace in Middle East without resolving Palestinian issue and without East Jerusalem as capital to Palestine, he said.
Speaking at the conference, the Qatari Emir said the Palestinian cause had "become a symbol for oppressed peoples everywhere" and condemned Israel for "brutal massacre" of peaceful demonstrators.
"Who among us does not know the declared siege forced on Gaza Strip and collective punishment against its population?" the Emir said.
"The Gaza Strip has been transformed into a large concentration camp for millions of people who are deprived of their most basic rights to travel, education, work and medical treatment.
"When their sons take arms they are called terrorists, and when they stage peaceful demonstrations they are called extremists, and are shot dead with live ammunition."
Late on Friday, the OIC issued a final communique calling on the United Nations to form an international investigation into the killings in Gaza; the creation of an international protection force for Palestinians, and for the OIC to place economic restrictions on any countries, companies or individuals who recognise Israel's annexation of Jerusalem.

About 120,000 Palestinians performed the first Friday prayer of Ramadan at al-Aqsa Mosque amid tightened security measures.
Local sources said that thousands of worshipers coming from Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the 1948 occupied territories have been present in the Mosque since the early morning hours.
The Israeli authorities in the morning erected dozens of checkpoints and deployed around 1500 policemen and border guards in the Old City and at all entrances leading to Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque causing suffocating traffic jams.
The Israeli authorities had announced that they would allow West Bank men over the age of 40 to enter Jerusalem and pray at al-Aqsa Mosque without permits and would not restrict the entry of women and children under 12. However, many men over 40 were prevented from entering the holy city.
Al-Aqsa preacher Sheikh Mohammed Husein during his sermon hailed the Palestinian worshipers who came to pray at al-Aqsa Mosque despite the Israeli restrictions, mourned the Palestinians who were killed in Gaza protests and wished those injured speedy recovery.
Sheikh Husein described the US embassy newly opened in Jerusalem as a "settlement" because the move was based on injustice and violation of international law, stressing that Jerusalem will forever be the capital of Palestine.
He called for enforcing the Arab summit resolutions saying that any state that moves its embassy to Jerusalem will be boycotted by all Arab countries.
He also called on the Islamic countries meeting in Istanbul Friday to assume their responsibilities toward the Palestinian cause and make every possible effort to defend Jerusalem and its holy sites.

The Israeli occupation forces intensified early Friday military presence across Occupied Jerusalem and cracked down on Palestinian worshipers, on the second day of Holy Ramadan Month.
A PIC news correspondent said Israeli forces prevented Palestinian young men from the occupied West Bank and aged below 40 years-old from entering Occupied Jerusalem to perform their Friday prayers at holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
Limited clashes and altercations also broke out at the Qalandiya crossing point as Israeli soldiers came down heavily on Palestinian worshipers.

About 60,000 Muslim worshipers performed the night prayers of Tarawih on Thursday at the Aqsa Mosque, according to the Islamic Waqf Authority in Occupied Jerusalem.
The Waqf Authority said the Israeli occupation police imposed security measures and movement restrictions in Occupied Jerusalem, especially in the Old City and its vicinity.
These police measures will be intensive during the holy month of Ramadan, especially during the few coming days when Jewish settlers are expected to celebrate their holiday Shavuot.
The police claimed the measures were necessary to prevent confrontations between Jews and Muslims in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Spokesperson for the Turkish president İbrahim Kalın on Thursday said that the Islamic summit to be held in Istanbul Friday will discuss the practical steps to be made by Islamic countries to defend the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem.
This was said in a statement released by Kalın Thursday on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit which will be held with the participation of presidents of the OIC member states under the auspices of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Kalın pointed out that the Islamic summit will discuss the violation of international law committed by the US administration by transferring its embassy to Jerusalem, in addition to the serious developments that have emerged after the killing of Palestinian civilians taking part in Gaza peaceful demonstrations.
Kalın stressed that the Palestinian cause does not only concern the Islamic countries, but it is also a common issue for all those who believe in law and justice.
"The Islamic summit will discuss steps to mobilize international public opinion to end injustice in Palestine," he added.
