VIDEO: Israeli Soldiers Beat Palestinian Elderly
Israeli soldiers have again surfaced in recently publicized video footage, on Wednesday, as they violently beat a Palestinian elderly in al-Aqsa mosque compound, occupied Jerusalem.

A number of soldiers appear in the footage as they surround a helpless elderly man in the compound, Al Ray reports. One of the soldiers is actually seen punching him before toppling him to the ground with the other soldiers.

The man tried to escape. However, the soldiers violently restrained him amidst massive outrage and protest from Palestinian civilians gathered in the compound.

Al Aqsa mosque is an increasingly frequent site of attacks on Palestinians, by both soldiers and Israeli settlers.
The video has caused a state of anger among social media activists.

Israeli forces detain young Palestinian girls on suspicion of eating cherries
Picture
Four Palestinian girls, at least one of whom is under the age of criminal culpability, are detained and brought for interrogation — without their parents being present — based on a complaint made by a local settler.

Israeli soldiers and police detained four Palestinian girls between the ages of 11 and 15 on suspicion of — eating cherries from trees belonging to the Jewish settlement of Maon in the south Hebron hills on Tuesday. The four were held at the Kiryat Arba police station.

The girls, who live in Khirbet Tuba in the south Hebron hills and go to school in a-Twane, are escorted to and from school on a daily basis by Israeli soldiers.

The escorts are a response to years of harassment by settlers who attack Palestinian children on their way to and home from school.

According to B’Tselem, a settler from Maon told the soldiers who were escorting the Palestinian girls that they ate some cherries from the settlement’s trees. According to the report, the soldiers immediately called the police, who took the girls to the Kiryat Arba police station to be interrogated.

Atty. Gaby Lasky, who is representing the minors, spoke with police on the phone and she was told that the 11 year old and another girl, who apparently has learning and speech disabilities, were released once their parents were contacted. The two others were being held for questioning.

“I have a murder and manslaughter cases that they haven’t questioned the suspects for over a year, but [these girls] need to be interrogated immediately, and without the presence of their parents,” Lasky said.

If the girls were Jewish, it would be illegal for the police to question them without the presence of their parents.

IOF soldiers detain four girls, one of them deaf and dumb, for hours

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained four little girls while returning from school to their homes on Tuesday, one of them is deaf and dumb. Hebrew daily Ha’aretz said on Wednesday that the Palestinian girls were 11 to 15 years old, adding that the incident occurred near Toba village, south of al-Khalil.

It said that Jewish settlers filed a complaint against the girls, charging them with “eating cherries from their trees”.

The girls denied the charge, the paper said, adding that they were released few hours after their detention in Kiryat Arba police station.

A police spokesperson, commenting on the news, said that the girls were investigated after a complaint was filed against them by the settlers.

They said that hundreds were taking part in the procession, adding that young men threw stones at the invading troops.

They said that the soldiers broke into homes near the main entrance to the city, which is beside the cemetery, and attacked citizens to keep them away from the main street, which is trekked by Jewish settlers.

Army Kidnaps A Disabled Palestinian, Throw His Wheelchair
Picture
Israeli soldiers violently attacked and kidnapped a disabled Palestinian man, in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, after forcing him into their jeep, and threw his wheelchair away.

Amjad Najjar, head of the Hebron branch of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), stated undercover soldiers of the Israeli military kidnapped Kamal Khairy ‘Aabdeen, 40 years of age, and took him to an unknown destination.

Najjar added that ‘Aabdeen is paralyzed, cannot move without his wheelchair, and that the soldiers left his wheelchair in the middle of the street in Ras al-Jouza area, in Hebron.

‘Aabdeen was shot in his spine during the Ibhrahimi Mosque massacre in Hebron.

The massacre took place on February 25, 1994, when an American-born fanatic Israeli settler, identified as Baruch Goldstein, stormed Hebron's Ibrahimi Mosque and opened fire, killing 29 worshipers and injuring 125, many of the wounded became disabled.

Sam al-Araj 18

A young Palestinian man says he was beaten and arrested by a group of Israeli police officers on Monday evening.

Sam al-Araj, 18, said he was attacked at 10 p.m. Monday after leaving the light rail at the Damascus Gate station near Jerusalem's Old City.

Al-Araj explained that he was with a friend in the rail when a group of young Israelis started making provocative gestures at them.

When they left the train, there were around 35 Israelis aged 20-25, and mostly Russian-born Israelis surrounded them. When they tried to flee the scene, the Israelis followed them, he said.

“My friend managed to escape from the area, and I was assaulted and beaten with rifle butts,” he added.

A number of them showed police IDs after the attack, and al-Araj was arrested, handcuffed, and taken to Saladdin police station where he was beaten and assaulted, he said.

Al-Araj added that he was released on bail at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

An Israeli police spokesman did not immediately return calls late Monday.

Bennet calls for killing Palestinian prisoners
Picture
Israeli Economy Minister Naftali Bennet demanded killing Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons commenting on a bill to prevent the early release of Palestinian prisoners. He claimed in an interview on Sunday morning, “ a large part of the “terrorist” released in the previous deals have returned to  the circle of “terrorism” and killed us again.”

“ We should kill them inside prisons,” He added.

The law which is submitted by the Knesset members from different parties will be discussed by the ministerial committee for legislation.

It requires imposing restriction on the authority of the Israeli president to approve the early release of Palestinian prisoners.

The law also seeks to include the phrase “complete life sentence imprisonment” in the decision of the court that issues life sentences to insure the impossibility of releasing Palestinians before the end of the term.

Shocking testimonies by Palestinian minors in Israeli jails
Picture
The Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) have never ceased to take Palestinian children and minors away from their mothers’ arms to detention centers where they have been subject to the most atrocious torture and interrogation procedures ever. A group of children from Occupied Jerusalem and different West Bank areas on Saturday revealed shocking testimonies to the lawyer of the Ministry of Prisoners.

The ministry’s lawyer quoted prisoner Ayman Samih Al-Abassi, 17, from Silwan and sentenced to 18 months and a 3-thousand-shekel-fine, as saying: “I was interrogated while being chained hand and foot and tied to a small iron chair, while my back was bent.”

Abassi recalled being heavily beaten on September 18 after he protested being incarcerated in a solitary cell in freezing weather conditions. The soldiers forced him into a bathroom and stripped him off from head to toe.

Detainee Khaled Jamal Husseini, 16, from Shaafat camp in Occupied Jerusalem and sentenced to 9 months, said he was arrested at his own home at dawn and led, chained and blindfolded, into an Israeli military jeep, the lawyer further reported.

On their way to Mascoubiya detention center prison, Khaled was made to lie on the jeep’s floor and was brutally attacked by the Israeli soldiers. When Khaled asked for water, the soldiers sprayed him with water-drops on his face.

Khaled further confirmed having been interrogated for long hours after being locked up in solitary confinement for 9 days and beaten in different parts of his body.

Ahmed Ghazi Hafedh Adili, 17, from Nablus, said he was taken handcuffed and blindfolded to Hawara detention center, where he was callously assaulted by Israeli prison guards. One of the soldiers kept on beating him with a stick on his head and ears, leading to a severe hemorrhage and hearing impairment.

The Israeli Prison Service (IPA) has been dragging its feet vis-à-vis Adili, still denied the medical check-ups and therapies he has been promised.

Another scandalous testimony was revealed by Khalil Ayman Abu Sanad, 17, from Silwan and sentenced to 28 months. Khalil recalled being arrested on 5 January 2003 after a number of Israeli settlers and Special Forces violently attacked him.

"My glasses were broken and a piece of glass penetrated my eyes due to their inconsiderate assaults. The tears my eyes were shedding were mixed with blood drops covering my entire face."

"But the undercover soldiers never ceased to hit my entire body with their sticks while I was made to lie down on the ground, leading to painful wounds above the eyebrows and my head."

“Afterwards I was locked up in a solitary cell for more than 27 hours, during which IPS kept on interrogating me day and night, never allowing me a moment’s rest  or a little lie-down,” Khalil said.

Archive - A Palestinian Child Attacked By Settlers

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that a number of settlers of the Ma’on illegal settlement, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, kidnapped a Palestinian child, and held him from several hours. Israeli soldiers also detained a child in the city.

WAFA said a number of fanatic settlers kidnapped the child, Mo’ab Kamel Reb’ey, 6, from the Tiwany village, east of Yatta town, and held him for several hours before releasing him between bushes near the illegal settlement.

Rateb Jabour, coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Hebron, said that child was found terrified and unable to speak, and was moved to the Abu al-Hasan al-Qassem Hospital in Yatta town.

In related news, a number of settlers of the Ramat Yeshai illegitimate settlement, built on Palestinian lands in Tal Romeida in Hebron, assaulted a Palestinian child causing various cuts and bruises.

The child has been identified as Awny Emad Abu Shamsiyya, 14 years of age; the settlers also attacked the child’s father when he tried to defend his son.

Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene, kidnapped the child, and held him for more than two hours in the illegal settlement.

Jewish settlers assault 6-year-old child

Jewish settlers from Maon settlement, south of al-Khalil, assaulted a Palestinian child after detaining him for a few hours on Saturday. Security sources told the PIC reporter on Sunday that the settlers took the 6-year-old child Musab Kamel Ruba’ee to their settlement and beat him up then released him in a very bad shape.

Settlers in the Old City of al-Khalil attacked 14-year-old child Awni Abu Shamsiya and severely beat him and his father when he tried to protect his son, locals said, noting that the Israeli occupation forces were nearby and did not intervene to stop the attack.

Israeli text messages to lure Palestinian youth into espionage
Picture
Several Gazan young men received text message on their cellphones on Thursday evening asking them frankly to work as informers for Israel.

One of those young men told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that he was extremely shocked when he received a text message asking him to keep in touch with someone called Captain Adnan.

Another young man said he did not even tried to know out of curiosity what further the senders wanted because they were for sure from the Mossad or the Shin Bet. The calls come at a time when poverty and unemployment rates in the Gaza Strip have been hitting the record, especially among the youth, of which  IOA have taken advantage to force Palestinians to work as spying agents,  a security official told the PIC.

The security official called on all young people not to deal with such suspicious messages or any attempt by the Israeli occupation to recruit them as spies against their own people.

Arresting the ill child Mohammad Abdel Hay Al-Zeer from his house in Silwan
Picture
The Israeli forces arrested 13-year old Mohammad Abdel Hay Al-Zeer on Wednesday early morning hours after raiding his house in the neighbourhood of Abbasyeh in Silwan.

Mohammad’s brother, Rami, informed Wadi Hilweh Information Center that a large Israeli force including police and Special Forces personnel raided the house around 4.30 a.m. and said: “my father heard somebody kicking the door and when he opened it, he was surprised to find a large Israeli force asking for his ID and then telling him that they will arrest his son Mohammad.”

He continued: “my father tried to tell them that my brother is young and has heart problems and is considered special needs but they refused to listen and instead raided my brother’s room while he was sleeping. My father tried to wake him up but Mohammad thought he was dreaming and continued sleeping.”

He added: “my father tried to wake him up again and told him that the forces want to arrest him which is when he started crying. Despite the fear that was in Mohammad’s eyes, the forces arrested him and prevented my father from going with him in the police car or even going to the interrogation center.”

Rami explained that his father went to Al-Maskobyeh but the interrogator refused to let him inside the interrogation room and informed him that Mohammad is accused of throwing stones after the interrogation was over and that he will be presented to court during the day.

The family condemned the barbaric way in which Mohammad was arrested and expressed their deep worry about his health condition after the arrest especially that he suffers from heart problem and his body does not assume any psychological pressure.

Thousands of Israelis back soldier who threatened Hebron teens
An Israeli soldier, who was suspended after being shown in a video clip cocking his gun and aiming at Palestinian teenagers, has received massive support online, media reported Wednesday.

Only hours after a Facebook page was created Tuesday in support of the elite Nahal infantry unit soldier identified only as David, it had clinched almost 60,000 likes.

Breaking the Silence, a pacifist group of former Israeli soldiers, denounced that kind of support and said the "situation depicted in the video is far from unusual."

A video posted on YouTube shows the young soldier raising his weapon after a verbal exchange with one of the teenagers, cocking it and aiming it at him.
He then threatens to put a "bullet in the head" of a third man filming the event unless he stops.

Breaking the Silence said "the Nahal soldier's reaction is hardly extreme when compared with the day-to-day conduct of the IDF (Israeli army) in the (Palestinian) occupied territories".

Far-right Jewish Home party leader Naftali Bennett posted a statement of support for the soldier on his Facebook page, writing: "He was alone, surrounded by several violent and aggressive Arabs. He didn't shoot and defended himself and his surroundings adequately."

Hebron is a major site of tensions as a result of the presence of 500 Jewish settlers and thousands of Israeli soldiers, meaning that local Palestinian residents have to pass through checkpoints in order to move between neighborhoods in the Old City.

Some areas, like Shuhada Street, are almost completely shut to Palestinians while open to Jews, and thousands of Palestinians have left as a result of harassment and limitations imposed by Israeli authorities.

Watch: Israel border police detain 6-year-old in Hebron
Picture
A screenshot shows Rami Rajabi being detained

Video footage has emerged of Israeli border police officers allegedly detaining a 6-year-old child in Hebron after he threw "pebbles" on Wednesday, activists in the southern West Bank city said.

Activists affiliated with the International Solidarity Movement said in a statement that Rami Rajabi was walking to school around 7 a.m. in central Hebron on Wednesday when three Israeli soldiers "burst out of an alleyway, grabbed his arm, and detained him in the street."

The incident reportedly occurred around 20 meters away from checkpoint

29, and the border policemen subsequently brought the boy to the checkpoint.

The activists said that the child was released after 20 minutes and taken home by a family member as a result of pressure from Palestinians and members of the group, who went to the checkpoint to force the soldiers to release the boy.

"What happened today is part of an ongoing campaign to intimidate the local population: Israeli forces harass children here in Hebron all the time," an unnamed activist from the group said in a statement.

A spokesperson from the Border Police could not be reached for comment.

A 2013 UN Committee on the Rights of the Child report said that around 7,000 children had been detained by Israel since 2002, or around two a day.

It said that they were "systematically subject to degrading treatment, and often to acts of torture."

Defense for Children International Palestine estimates that there were 230 Palestinian minors in Israeli prisons in Feb. 2014.

Hebron is a major site of tensions as a result of the presence of 500 Jewish settlers and thousands of Israeli soldiers, meaning that local Palestinian residents have to pass through checkpoints in order to move between neighborhoods in the Old City.

Israeli colonial settlers with Israeli soldiers assault Palestinians, injure two old brothers
Picture
Israeli colonial settlers of Beit Hadasa settlement backed by the Israeli occupation soldiers assaulted Palestinian citizens after raiding their houses in al-Shohadaa street, central the West Bank city of Hebron.

The settlers attacked the houses of Mufid and Zidan al-Sharabati before beating them, local sources reported.

They said the Israeli soldiers joined the Israeli settlers and beat al-Haj Mufid, 48 and his brother Zidan,44, causing them suffer bruises and contusions.

The brothers were transferred to al-Khalil Governmental Hospital. The Israeli soldiers kidnapped Zidan from the ambulance despite his injury and took him to an interrogation center in Kiryat Arba settlement, the sources added.
